Custom Cues
The process
begins with a commitment to total quality control, starting with Jerry
Pechauer himself selecting the Maple logs that make-up different parts
of the pool cue. After Jerry selects the logs, they are cut on
Pechauer's own saw and dried in their specialized kiln. Each J. Pechauer
Custom Pool Cue starts with a select piece of hard-rock Maple from which
the shaft is born. It is chosen for its exceptional "whiteness" and
"grain". To these are married butt sections of bird's-eye/curly Maple,
Ebony, Tulip wood, Cocobolo, Bocote and others. These exotic woods are
chosen for their exceptional beauty and visual grain structure.
Parts and
components, which most cue-makers purchase from outside sources, are
made in Pechauer's own custom shop. These include stainless steel joint
screw and collar, implex joint collar, brass inserts, special "CT" tip
ferrule, fiber ferrule, weight screw, butt plate and inlays, all of
which are individually crafted in-house to control quality at every step
of the handcrafting process.
Flawlessly
finished to enhance the beauty of nature and the craftsmanship of
skilled hands, the master cuemaker then makes the final inspection
before signing each "Ivory Collection" cue. A cue that bares this
